Meet the Team

Our exceptional, friendly staff is our greatest asset. Our dental assistants and hygienists are licensed professionals who pride themselves on staying on the cutting edge of dentistry and patient care. They are excited about what they are doing, have high standards of quality and integrity, and are motivated to achieve the best results for our family of patients.

Our dedicated and motivated staff has one primary goal—your utmost comfort! We feel it’s important that you understand the treatment that you’ll be receiving so that you can relax during the procedure. Our staff is eager to answer any questions regarding your dental care. Shelley Lynn Elderkin, Office Manager

Shelley Elderkin is a graduate of Simonds High School in Saint John, New Brunswick. At the completion of her high school education she attended Holland College in Prince Edward Island and graduated as a Certified Level II Dental Assistant in the year 2000. For the first ten years of her career, she has worked in general dental practices in Saint John.  Shelley joined our team in 2008 and has progressed from Dr MacDonald's Administrative Assistant to Office Manager. She has expanded her dental education through continuing education courses in periodontal and implant therapy at both the local and national/international level with the rest of the office staff. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband Mark and son Matthew.

Tara Gamble, Dental Assistant

Tara graduated from Kennebecasis Valley High School, New Brunswick.  At the completion of her high school education she attended the Dental Assistants Academy of NB and graduated as a Certified Level II Dental Assistant in the year 2000. Tara began her dental career working seven years in general practice dentistry prior to joining our periodontal practice in 2007. Tara joined our team as Dr. MacDonald's surgical chairside dental assistant where she enjoys being in our very progressive office and especially enjoys the opportunity to attend the many periodontal and implant therapy continuing education courses both locally and internationally with our practice. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her friends and family.

Jordan O'Shea, Registered Dental Hygienist                     

Jordan graduated from North and South ESK Regional High School in Miramichi New Brunswick in 2006. At the completion of her high school diploma Jordan attended Oulton College, and graduated as a Certified Level II Dental Assistant. With dental hygiene as her ultimate goal, Jordan furthered her studies the following year and graduated as a Registered Dental Hygienist in 2009 from Oulton College. Immediately following graduation she began her career in general dentistry until 2011, when she joined our team as our full time dental hygienist. Jordan truly enjoys educating our patients on overall good oral care, as well as being an active team member in our office. She also enjoys the many opportunities to attend local and national/international continuing education courses. Jordan is an active member of the Canadian Dental Hygiene Association, New Brunswick Dental Hygiene Association, and The New Brunswick College of Dental Hygiene. In her spare time she loves playing competitive indoor and beach volleyball and spending time with her husband and family.

Kim Remete, Administrative Assistant

Kim graduated from Saint John High School in Saint John New Brunswick. After high school she completed one year of a Bachelor of Arts program at University of New Brunswick Saint John prior to receiving her diploma for Level II Dental Assisting at Holland College in Prince Edward Island in 1995. She has previously worked in general dental practices in the greater Saint John area as well as furthering her career by working as an assistant in Oral Surgery. Kim joined our periodontal team in 2010 as Dr. MacDonald's administrative assistant and continues to further her continuing education programs by attending implant therapy courses and periodontal conventions with the rest of our team members. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, playing soccer, and travelling.

 Jenna Somerville, Dental Assistant

 Jenna graduated from Hampton High School in Hampton New Brunswick in 2003. Several years later Jenna decided to further her education in 2011 by attending the Dental Assistants College of Saint John where she received her diploma and license as a Level II Dental Assistant. Jenna joined our periodontal team in 2012. Away from the office Jenna enjoys spending time with her family and children.
